AR RAHMAN VS. RD BURMAN: 3RD I LECTURE SERIES

From art-house classics to documentary films, innovative and experimental visions to next-level Bollywood: 3rd i (www.thirdi.org), is committed to promotingdiverse images of South Asians through independent film.  3rd i’s Speaker Series invites scholars, experts and enthusiasts to explore a variety of topics related to SouthAsian cinema – from cinema history and famous personalities, to current trends and politics of representation. Talks are illustrated with film clips, stills, sound bites and other media. Presentations are followed by an open discussion moderated by the speaker.

On Sunday August 15, 2010,  bay area scholar and musician Robin Sukhadia presents R.D. Burman vs A.R. Rahman. The interactive talk will profile the two legendary composers and culminate in an audience battle to determine which of them is the ultimate ‘Maestro of Bollywood’.
